About
My name is Tatiana
I have been photographing portraits for eight years. Warsaw is home, but I shoot wherever I’m invited: this year that meant Kraków, Lisbon and one very cold apartment in Helsinki.
I came to photography because of my own awkwardness in front of a camera. For a long time being photographed was hard, and I couldn’t understand how people in portraits managed to still look like themselves. Now that is exactly my job — to make a person feel calm.
A session is closer to a walk with a conversation. I guide a lot: where to look, what to do with your hands, how to turn towards the light. No “just relax and be natural” without explanation — that is the most useless sentence in this profession.
I love soft window light, Portra film, and the frame a second before the pose.
